Gary

Gary grew up in Garden City, KS. home of the world’s largest free outdoor swimming pool and the land of the buffaloes. He was raised in the church and put his faith in Jesus Christ as his Savior at a very young age. Gary grew in his faith due to the efforts of his parents and his church family. His youth pastor, Avery Rutledge, made a huge impact on his faith journey. He was Sophomore pursuing a degree in Architecture at Kansas State University when God began to speak to him about becoming a pastor.  Gary surrendered to the call of God to the gospel ministry and transferred to Liberty University.

Gary joined the Cross Creek pastoral team in the fall of 2014 as the Family Pastor. He now oversees the Counseling and Discipleship ministries at Cross Creek Church.

Before moving to Fountain, Gary was a youth pastor for nineteen years in two different Kansas churches.  He has served as a worship leader, seminar speaker, business chaplain, hospice chaplain and children’s pastor. Gary has a Bachelor of Science degree in Church Ministries from Liberty University. He has a Master of Arts degree in Psychology from Louisiana Baptist University. He is currently pursuing a PhD at Louisiana Baptist University.

Gary has three boys, Taylor, Tristan, and Trevor. His wife since 1989, Crystal, is a school teacher.  Gary enjoys hiking in the mountains with Crystal and watching the Kansas City Chiefs.  He loves Mexican food, ice cream, musician Toby Mac, the K-State Wildcats and anyone who is playing the K.U.
