Melissa was born in Fort Worth, TX. She was raised in the church and was saved at nine years old.  During the summer following 7th grade, she went to a church camp, and it was there that she discovered her burning passion to serve the church even at such a young age. Within the next year she started serving on the worship team on her church and continued to do so until moving away for college.  Over the years, Melissa has served as a worship team member and as a children’s minister at previous churches. Here at Cross Creek, Melissa serves on the worship team, as a Financial Peace Coordinator, and a Financial Coach. 

Having experienced what it is like to be under the bondage of nearly $60,000 and her marriage hanging on by a thread, it is her life’s mission to help others with overcoming their own financial trials. When Melissa was in the midst of financial strain, she remembers praying that if she made it to the other side, then she would want to be utilized to help others do the same. She finds so much joy in guiding people into stewarding their finances well, getting out of debt, and building stronger marriages through learning how to work together as a team in their finances.   

Melissa met her husband Jonathan while she was in college studying music. They got married on New Years Day of 2017. Within the same month, Melissa enlisted in the Army. Melissa, Jonathan, and her daughter Naomi moved here in December of 2023. 

While serving in the military, Melissa has completed Ramsey Solutions Financial Coach Master Training Course and is now a Ramsey Preferred Coach. To further her knowledge, she is currently pursuing her certification in being a Certified Financial Planner.
